Machine Description and Technical Data
2.1 Machine Description
The RED COMPACT units are delivered fully pre-assembled and require only electrical connection and hydraulic hookups on site.
Main Components:
A: Self-supporting frame with stainless steel cladding (panels 1–6 removable)
B: Basin with evaporator
C: Condenser unit
D: Temperature controller
E: Control cabinet
F: Hydraulic circuit with pump (second pump optional)
2.2 Structure
The compact monoblock housing contains all components necessary for operation. The external cladding is made of stainless steel; individual panels can be removed for maintenance purposes.
2.3 Basin
The stainless steel basin houses the evaporator block. It is insulated with high-density polyurethane foam. A blower ensures water circulation within the basin.
2.4 Condenser Unit
The condenser unit can operate with either cooling tower or well water, depending on order specification. It supplies the evaporator block and is located beneath the basin.
2.5 Temperature Controller
The controller is a modern microcomputer with a high-resolution display and LED indicators for operating status. The control system is programmed to offer maximum operational safety with easy user operation.
2.6 Control Cabinet
The control cabinet is dust- and splash-proof. It contains:
- Main and emergency switch
- Contactors, thermal relays, fuses
- Safety transformer for control circuits
Access is provided by removing panel 1 below the temperature controller.
2.7 Hydraulic Circuit with Pump
Panel 3 is removed for connection. The following connections are provided:
A – Water make-up (T1): Connection to water supply; fill level is controlled via float valve.
B – Return line (T2): Return flow from the consumers.
C – Overflow (T3): Connection to the process wastewater outlet.
D – Chilled water outlet (P1): Supplies the consumers; open the shut-off valve before commissioning. A second pump (P2) is available as an option.
E – Condenser water supply:
The shell-and-tube condenser can be operated with well water or cooling tower water:

Scheme A – Well Water: Use the small connections C1, C2 (inlet and outlet). The large connection remains closed. A pressure-regulated valve control can be installed as an option.
Scheme B – Cooling Tower Water: Use C3 and C1/C2 in parallel to increase the flow cross-section.
It is recommended to install a mechanical filter at the water inlet to prevent contamination.
