The Weima high-performance shredders, with their flexible application options, can process all types of wood-based materials (hardwood, softwood, chipboard, MDF materials, plywood, veneer remnants, etc.) into wood chips, and achieve an enormous volume reduction of the material, especially with bulky materials. Operating principle: The machine is equipped with a large feed hopper and can be fed either via a conveyor belt or by hand. This hopper can be adapted to individual needs and guarantees a continuous and cost-effective material feed without the need for manual assistance. The hydraulically controlled slide feeds the wood waste to be shredded to the cutting area of the rotor and is automatically and load-dependent. The internal slide guides are made of highly abrasion-resistant plastic (polyamide) and can be adjusted. The hydraulic cylinders are suspended on universal joints to avoid transverse forces on the piston seals. The patented and profiled V-rotor made of solid steel has a diameter of 256 mm and operates with a rotor speed of 80 - 120 rpm. The concave, aggressive and 4-way rotatable knives/cutting inserts are located in milled knife pockets on special knife carriers. This patented system guarantees, through the resulting reduction of the cutting gap between the counter-knife and the rotor, a high throughput, low energy consumption and an optimal discharge of the shredded material. The screen attached under the rotor determines the chip size (10 - 100 mm). On request, a hydraulically opening screen basket is also available. The power transmission from the electric motors is via V-belts to a heavily dimensioned gearbox, which is attached to the rotor stub on one side.
