The fully automatic filling cycle begins by completely closing the bag valve and also registering the bag's weight. The next phase fills the bag, which is located on a load cell, with a rapid feed via a pneumatically operated slide gate and a screw conveyor. When the weight reaches a pre-set amount (typically around 95% of the required total), the slide gate closes to a slower feed rate until the required weight is reached, after which it closes completely. Once the screw conveyor has transferred all the product, it stops, and the valve seal is automatically released, ready for the bag to be removed.
